I don't know about a "GREEK" reg , do you mean a Rep of Cyprus one.... ?

I think if you are on HOLIDAY or staying a short time you wouldn't fall foul of the "TRNC" "customs".. it is obvious they are trying to crack down on folk they think are avoiding registering a car in the "north"..

I think anyone with a property in both the south AND the north could reasonably appeal a fine and compulsory expulsion of a RoC reg'd vehicle if they can demonstrate the vehicle spends more time in the RoC.. either "TRNC" is a country or it's not.

Ismet .. isn't there some reference to what is permissible? For example if I lived in Limas(s)ol and came up to "TRNC" every other weekend I would be quite within my rights to visit in my RoC car...

I'm guessing if you haven't got a property in the "north" and don't work in the "north" it would be a mite unreasonable to be fined..have one's car impounded..

Has anyone one been "lifted" for having a UK reg'd car ?

Yes it was in CT.

They are picking up any cars that are obviously owned by people who have permanent residence here and have been here for longer than a holiday period.

Probably makes no sense but what ever does here. Simple answer, stay legal and either buy a car here or bring one into TRNC and pay all due taxes before they are due to be paid. Cars are not that expensive here in real terms compared to importing and paying all taxes.

Dear Dee, re msg 6

You'll remember that our quiet "friend" Pikey had mentioned that "govts" in "TRNC" had been "corrupt" - that "upset" some folk...

Strange I don't see anyone protesting this time..... !

CiS, re msg 5

I read about the guy on here who lives mainly in the RoC - but has a pad in "TRNC" and fell "victim" - frankly I don't think the "TRNC" Customs guys have thought this one through..

If the GCs started impounding the cars of TCs who spend more time in the "south" because they work here.. I'm SURE there'd be howls of protests on this board..

Dee,

I think it is grossly, unfair, unfounded and unwarranted to call any official here corrupt. The thought police will be around later to deal with you.

At same time I will collect my fee for above statement. LOL!!!!!
