Following recent postings just to warn anyone in the Malatya area we have just had a phone call from friends staying in our house to say someone has broken into the house while they have been out this evening visiting friends. They are currently waiting for the police to arrive, money has been taken and our safe has been forced out of the wall in the wardrobe (securely bolted in place). Keep your eyes open and money safe and house secured.

Thank you for that information, at least now we know they are going prepared if they forced the safe out of the wall.

hi lippylush they are some gang doing this side of the island. I am so very sorry for you. I was never usually scared and would leave the door open for the dogs. Now they ae inside with me. Gordon system seems to be the answer. I hope to god they are caught soon and if they are brits then I hope the punishment fits the crime xxxxxx

Try Iktisatbank who sell Umbrella Insurance. Between us and neighbours we have had several claims, including a kitchen fire in a holiday villa. The claim process is simple and they have paid out promptly each time. If you have BRS membership they give discount (20% I think).

Lilli

you say I hope they are caught soon and if they are Brits the punishment should fit the crime. A somewhat racist remark wouldn't you say? Surely whoever is doing these crimes it is toatally irrelevant what race they are and the punishment should be the same.

I am not being complicated, I just cannor see any reason why one should imply if it were Brits doing the crimes. the punishment should be the same for whoever is doing it.

I'm sure Lilli had no intention of being racist, more likely she was trying to express her feeling that if it is Brits that are targeting their own countrymen then it is more offensive and distressing.

I think what Sylvie is trying to say is that she feels that Muslims are treated more severely than other people in Europe , hope thats right Sylvie.

All people are 'racist'. It's colour prejudice that holds no credibility!

Hi Quarmby Im sorry I didnt mean to sound racist at all. I can see how you thought this. I just feel so sad that expats are robbing thier own people. In a country with zero tolerance against crime. You are quite correct whoever is doing it should be punished for the pain and misery they have caused.

Sylvie, "People seem to forget"? Difficult to forget something you didn't know in the first place! I will from now on try and understand your postings, now that I know English is not your first language.

regards Vicki.

Back to the thread, I wonder what the statistics are of these recent burglaries, there does seem to be an awful lot lately.
