There was another crash in 1970-71, El-AL 300+ people all died it slammed in to the mountains, between alsancak and lapta.

I rememebr seeeing an orange ball looked jsut like the sun starting to rise backwards. I was in lefkosa.

It had instrument trouble and did nto know the mountains were, there.

it was a long time ago and I was just a kid, Nothing much is mentioned about it.

Hi Turbo

January 29, 1973 -- An EgyptAir Ilyushin 18 plane crashed into a mountain on approach to Nicosia, Cyprus, killing all seven crew and 30 passengers.

BHW,

it was almost like a dream that it never happened, there was hardly a mention of it. I guess it wasnt 300 thats the good news, sadly there was still loss of life.

Thanks fo the update, do you have the link to the news?
