adding names to title deeds?

Hi all, wonder if you could help

I went to trnc on my own and signed a sales agreement when we first decided to buy in 2006, and the estate agent told me that when we actually got the title deeds I could add my partner angie's name to the deeds no problem.

I only did it beccause I wanted to secure the property and get things moving

When we went over there together and spoke to our solicitor, he told us that it would cost another grand to add angie's name to the deeds!

Nothing was mentioned about cost when I first asked the question of the estate agents!

I am just wondering now if we are able to do it ourselves at the land registry office when we transfer the title deeds once the ptp comes through, without the solicitor?



Anybody know the rules?

Hi Kc, a grand sounds way over the top. Who did you buy through and who was the estate agent?
