is that the same garden centre that used to be on the ring road between henry charles and the island?

'IF' it is it had a closing down sale that seemed to last forever.

I too went today and was happy with what I bought but felt the whole thing was something unusual, not long ago a closing down sale and now this, closed before time and from the owners comments to me personally she was far from happy with the amounts raised. At the end of the day it was an auction and we all went for bargains!!!

the legalities of bidding at auction as in the uk is: you can bid on your own item up to the reserve price.

We were told by the auction house that there were no reserve prices being set. Sounds like a con job by the owner of the plants

It appears that the owner hasn't quite grasped the rules re auctions, something of a new concept here it seems. Trouble is, it can seriously damage the reputation of the auctioneer.

Went to the auction, yes I think the owner did not understand the concept of an auction, the roads had been closed off and I think she felt not enough people were there.

Her friend who was bidding on items was actually a buyer and he paid and collected his items at the end, no pushing up bids there!

Amanda did the best she could under the circumstances and due to circumstances outside of her control to finish the auction when instructed.
