Sorry only heard of Northshore Builders on that list and that's just a bill board at the side of the road.

Paul

If you are not in a hurry, then I would suggest you simply wait until you are ready to buy (having done your research). Then buy a place that's already built. That way you know what you are buying and no worries that the builder goes bust before completion. Don't think that by buying off plan now that you are getting a bargain. There are plenty of bargains that are already built.

I would support rtddci regarding buying off plan. Its a buyers market so its easy to find exactly what you want from a resale. Less stressful and a much safer option. Read all previous posts there are several reliable builders recommended, chose carefully. Other option is to buy land and get title deeds and full ownership first and then commission a builder to do this for you. Pay in stages so that you only pay small amounts throughout and only when happy with progress. Pay someone to act as surveyor and project manager. Again there are many recommendations for such people on these and other forums.

This option can be safer if you pick the right builder Good luck and remember don't be rushed.....it's a buyers market.

Just to add to earlier advice of myself and Bradus. Take the time to visit the British Residents Society. Meet at Pegasus restaurant on Friday mornings.

Well worth going for a chat.

Hi

And thanks to you people who have put a reply.

We still need to know about these agents and the builder on the list, good or bad.

There must be someone on this forum that has had dealings with the companys on the list,so please, please post a reply.

Regards Paul

Hi Paul:

Can't give you any info yet, but I too am meeting with Select (Ian) toward the end of the month - amongst others - so I will be happy to pass on my comments at a later stage and let you know how I find them.

Cheers, Abby

Paul in all honesty going over for three days is not exactly giving yourself much of an opportunity to investigate anyway!! I would have thought you'd need a minimum of a fortnight initially, with possibly another trip later on, and even then you will probably still not get to see a lot of it.

With all these builders you are going to have people that have had good and bad experiences. Just look at Santa-Fe, a couple of years ago some were singing their praises! I don't see much of that now!!!

As someone has already said, if you're not planning on having this built for a couple of years why not wait nearer the time and buy a Villa that's already been built, then you'll see the end product b4 you commit.

If you are determined to have a one off Villa built then maybe you should concentrate on sourcing the land in the location you want first, then you will have plenty of time to sort out your builder.

One builder that I have seen and would recommend are Highview homes. We chatted to the owner who is TC (but hails from UK) and we were VERY impressed with both the build quality and his attitude (not pushy at all)

Good luck with your search, but I feel you need to give yourself more time to do it properly.

I would higly recommend Ataser Construction in Alsancak he built a house for one of my friends very well built, I have seen a few of his houses and they are stunning, built to very high standard.
