Hi Lulubell,

We bought the fabric in Dunelm mill and did it ourselves. It was really easy a local tailor who does alterations, hemmed it for us and we put it onto the pergola.

You can get the sail cloth from a shop in Ledra Street (north side) and he will make it up to your spec. Friends have had theirs from there and its just starting its 4th year. Its taken down in winter, sent off to the dry cleaners and it comes back looking like new. Cheap too.

Hi lulubell,

If you contact Glencoe Trading, they have an Austrian Sailcloth that has a 10 year guarantee. They will measure and fit. They are based at Turtle Bay and have an offfice next to the Kings Bar. Turtle Bay is just before the Esentepe turn off.

Hi Lulubell,

Could you please tell me roughly how much you paid for one pergolas, since we have to have another cover made and we are not sure who to go to. Thank you.

I can recommend speaking to/emailing Denise from Mermaid fabrics ersahali@superonline.com Their prices are as competitive as any & if you have a general idea of size she can give you an idea of price although they will measure themselves to be certain.

Just had a quote from Mermaid but at 574 YTL for approx 14 foot square seems rather expensive to me! The quote is for one with eyelets, but even so, I still think thats expensive.

Hi millzer,

Glencoe were advertising Austrian Sailcloth for pergolas with a 10 year guarantee. These could be made up with eyelets and fitted. Worth a try, they are now up in Esentepe near the Tumba restaurant.

Any one know who makes truck tarpalins on the island? In white they make great sun shades and are very UV resistant. Very tough and although maybe a bit more expensive than sail cloth, they last years.
