I remember 2 years ago when everyone was going to get bird flu, read in the papers that the goverment were bracing themselves for upto 750.000 deaths, can't remember anyone dying from that.

There is always a lot of media hype about this sort of thing Nige,but so far the effects of Swine flu/human variant should not cause shudders. It is not thought to be in the same league as the Spanish flu of 1918. We are however going to have a pandemic at some stage as one is long overdue.I am involved in preparations for reducing its effects and spread in North East Lancs. If something like 1918 happens again though,it will make the recession look like a bit of a laugh!
