For fresh fish go up to the roundabout where you would turn to Lefkosa, but cross the roundabout and a few hundred yards on the right you will see a very large store think it is called Hurdeniz fabulous fresh fish, all sorts. Also the shop is like an enormous deli you can buy nearly everything you want in there and not over the top prices.

The majority of supermarkets stock the same items at very roughly the same price. For more "English" named foods then Tempos. For frozen goods, then it's Bells.

Just find your local supermarket and shop there, even if it's the smaller independant run shops and help support the small trader. Their prices will be much the same as the supermarkets and you'll only waste what you may save from shopping in a supermarket in petrol getting to and from them.

Supreme, don't know if they are the cheapest but it is always service with a smile and nothing is too much trouble for the owner, his wife or the staff.

Fruit and vegetables are cheaper and fresher at the Wednesday market. Starlings seem to have more offers than the others.

shop all the time at Supreme and they just get better and better - regularly adding new ranges. Their staff are very friendly and helpful and the owners will try and obtain anything you want.

Hurdeniz is the best for fish and very reasonable. i had the best fish i ever tasted from there.

bells, i found to be very expensive. most local market shops sell at around supermarket prices so it may pay to get a monthly shop done at Lemar eg and day to day stuff at the local.
