I don't know WHY you keep on beating this drum.. "re-unification" - you have to be" broken apart" first... ;)

Seriously, "re-unification" will be federated bi-zonal autonomous regions..

The TCs will have more REAL say that they do now..

oh mark if only you were thick

all you guys know just as well as well as we do,

there was precious little chance of a workable compromise

with new property hassles and election of the no-nonsence ubp

it's as plain as the nose on your face:

"no way jose" as the late president reagan used to say

and the biggest losers in this east mediterranean imbroglio?

the claimants...

those tc's in the north of whose voice we have still to hear

those gc'c in the south whose dreams are yet undisturbed

seriously

andre

it works both ways if the gc's still own land from pre 74 so do the tc's.

the problems will be with land that was sold on, i guess the gov will have to deal with that.

but this orams thing show both sides are still the legal owners of this property, so rather than go to court if the goverments could set up some office to deal with it, without the costs involved in court action, it could possibly pave the way to solving the property situ here.

what other choice do they have??

one step nearer to a solution?

ingenious firestarter,

but in reality the official gc line is the tc refugees (if they dare!)

"can come back to south cyprus any time they want"

while greek cypriots more or less cannot live in north cyprus

this is just one of the tricks the republic of cyprus employs in its "war of attrition"

come to think of it,

churchill used the anzacs in a war of "attrition" against turkey at gallipoli in 1915

i have met a couple of gc's who live in the north.

my thoughts are that there maybe a challenge to the roc's 6 months residency rules? is it still legal?

after all the pre 74 title to property still belongs to the origional owner.

what i am saying is they need to deal with this now, before things get out of hand.

firestarter this is the middle east where people make things up as they go along

I see the dreaded "s" word creeping in to your logic "should"

already you are using the "n" word "need"

both words have any meaning only depending on who uses them and in what context

my feeling is it is all

a "l" word

of

"b" word

I thought both sides already had offices and procedures in place for both North and South claimants.

In the North there is the IPC which GC's can go to to reclaim thier property which was approved by the EU as acceptable and in the South they have the procedure where the TC claimant can go back and has to live in his house for 6 months and then claim it back, one question comes to mind how do they remove the GC family that might be living in it?

Anyway there are things in place, makes one wonder why they are not being used.
