| Hopefully now the Turkish Cypriots will realise that the GCs will never accept sharing the island of Cyprus with them. Further if Turkey also recognises that significant members of the EU dont want them in as full members then perhaps it is about time for them to play hardball. The international community and EU need a stable Turkey They should inform the EU that unless they are prepared to play fair then the search for a solution is over for ever If the TRNC and Turkey consider the TRNC a state the GCs and EU should be informed that GC courts interferring in the internal matters of the TRNC will be treated as a hostile act That should focus a few minds for starters The Turkish Cypriots for to long ignored the propaganda war and lost they now need to respond robustly as this latest ruling affects them as much as anyone |

| Re msg 1 I'm sorry BB, but if you state that sort of thing "outside" the " Bubble" of "TRNC" or TR , you would raise eyebrows - to put it mildly. The "hostile" act was invading the Sovereignty of a state - RoC - as far as the t'other side of the coin is concerned... legally the RoC has TR "boxed" . This ruling won't effect most TCs / Turks living in Cyprus . *I* feel it will ultimately - combined with more recent ECHR rulings bring about a settlement as this ruling MIGHT bring about more cases from GCs which SHOULD be defended - unlike the Orams. It needs for a RoC court to be "advised" that there is a ECHR ruling that TR has to provide a "local remedy" - and that surely it's IPC should be the first place to seek redress... even if the IPC comes up short in fairness.. But that would be the topic for another thread.. when there is enough data .. ironically , if not enough GCs use this "local remedy" they might extend it's life - or give it permanent status.. |
