The ref also missed Anelka tripping himself up.And therefore also missed sending Anelka off for cheating.

So Ronaldo you are saying the ref was right? and talk about anelka cheating what about the blatent hand ball can you honestly say that this was not a penalty!! Chelsea certainly should have one 2-1, and redtom letting the game run i think the ref let it run too much, Yes i am a Chelsea fan but this comment was made by a Man Utd supporter

Just no consistency in referee's decisions and players football, as a neutral I wanted two things Chelsea to go to the final and Ballack and Drogba to have enough cautions so as not to play. One handball was deliberate and a penalty should have been awarded, diving makes me sick, no wonder kids in the UK are turning to Rugby as an alternative sport, football will kill itself!

how long before they take up other sports methods i.e someone looking at video evidence relaying the refs yes its a penalty no it was a dive? it works in other sports cricket, rugby, these decisions cost clubs millions of pounds we have the technoligy why not use it to assist refs?

I actually thought the referee had a decent game.

If we go throught the penalty incidents one by one

The first one which he gave the free kick for was the correct decision. Initially the first offence took place outside the box and the referee tried to play advantage. As there was no advantage the referee made the correct decision in awarding the free kick.

The second one where Drogba was through there was minimal contact between both players. Drogba had hit the ball to far in front of him and the contact was 6 of one and half a dozen of another. The referee really needed the assistance of the assistant to make a penalty decision. I think it was the correct one by the referee.

As for the handball incidents. The incident when Nicholas Anelka tried to flick the ball passed the centre half if you look at the body position of the centre half he is side on to Anelka. He is not using his arms or hands to make himself bigger and the ball played him

The last incident in extra time I'm afraid was not a penalty. Firstly Eto'o has jumped and it is almost impossible to jump without lifting your arms for leverage. The ball has struck him between his elbow and his shoulder very close to his body. If the ball had struck him further down the arm then the case for a penalty would be stronger. The ball was heading out the stadium anyway and not going on target. Also bare in mind that it was a shot and Eto'o would have had very little chance of getting his hand out the way. The correct decision at the time.

Having said all of the above penalties have been given for similiar incidents. That is why football is such a unique game.

if drogba hadnt done so much diving , the added time would have been less , maybe not enough for barca to score , drogbas a cheat and it backfired on him , the fans must be gutted ,

I think the criticism of the ref is totally unfair. He should be congratulated on getting to Stamford Bridge, without a taxi, and only his white stick and dog to guide him. How the hell he was able to run around on the pitch for 90 minutes without the benefit of those aids and NOT bump into anyone or anything is nothing short of a miracle.

It has also been alleged that there was a conspiracy by UEFA and Michel Platini to prevent the Champion's League being contested by two English teams again. I would like to make it clear that the fat brown envelope in the referee's dressing room was the usual match fee.......................
