I have just walked along by the Harbour taking my baby Grandaughter for the very first time the scenery is superb - the sea so blue ... so many smiling people saying hello to us, the sun was shining - what a great day !

Every day is positive for me.

Yesterday I got talking to a Turkish Cypriot man that grows flowers and he was loading up his car to take flowers to his florist shop in Girne. He asked me if I had family and I told him yes but It was only me and my wife living here and the rest of the family were in the UK. He pulled out a large bunch of flowers from his car and said 'Here give these to your wife and tell her to enjoy her life in the TRNC'. I thanked him and continued the walk back to our villa and on the way I passed one of our Turkish Cypriot neighbours who is always giving us produce from her garden and I gave her some of the flowers from the bunch. The rest I gave to my wife so in the space of ten minutes I managed to please two women. Now is that a world record? usualy I find it hard (pardon the pun) to please one.

I am newish to forum (my 5th posting I think). I am flying out tommorow and have been dreading it after seeing all the negaitive stuff after last weeks outcome re Orams.

It is so nice to finally see that the sun is shining & you are all starting to think positive again. My faith is coming back fast & I am looking forward to landing in the the place of sunshie & smiles.

If anyone is feeling helpful do they know the opening times of the 1001 shop near the airport & is it open weekend.

I woke this morning and saw the most fantastic sun rise, put my washing out and the sun was hot on my back, from my home i have a fantastic mountain and sea view. I am now at work and my view is of the sea, where else could you get this.



Another good point about this island is the peopel are friendly, it is safe and they are fantastic with children, it is so nice to call Northern Cyprus our home.



And best of all our son loves it here especially summer as he calls it pool time!!

Today is an even nicer day. The sun is shining, there is a lovely breeze drying my washing and all is well. I just love living here.



Saw someone on the Telly wanting to show us something on the Irish coast and all we could see was a grey sea and choppy waters as well as mist. It makes you realise just how lucky we are with the amount of sunshine we get.

It's a NICE sunny Friday morning. Friday is my day off, that's nice, it's also the day I do my counselling work at our local hospice, that may not sound nice, but people get quite a lot out of it, so that's nice. We only have four weeks & two days until we are back in Alsancak, now that really is NICE! Everyone have a nice day.

By the way. Had a very nice afternoon in a place called The Hut (Lapta), where you meet nice Brits who behave nicely. You know, not the kind of Brits you're so happy not to know. Bill - if only you knew. The only person in our house who owns a nice apron (pinnie) is Paul. I bought it for him as part of his Christmas present last year (before you mock, it was VERY expensive).



Also made the mistake of buying for his birthday a couple of years ago, a 'cooking day' at a cookery school in Hadleigh (again, wildly expensive). He has been back there another couple of times, on sort of Corporate days with work colleagues, and, apart from some lovely samosas that he made, I have yet to taste anything else he learned!!



Anyway, he really enjoyed it and said it was really nice, even though he comes home three sheets to the wind!
