Just wondering if anyone has tried out the new restaurant *Theos* in Lapta, take the road opposite the old post office, past the new supermarket turn left over the ravine and it is about 100yds away on the right set up from the road, it looks a bit like a church from outside. It only opened last week and we didn,t have chance to try it before coming back to the UK, our villa is within walking distance of it so I would be very interested to hear other members views on it as it could be a very handy local for us.

Hi Hattikins and welcome

Sorry haven't heard anything about it. Will try to find out from friends of ours who live in Alsancak to see if they know anything about it.

Hattkins,

We are in Lapta in 3 weeks time, will try to look it up. Your directions, are they from the main road or the village?

Not sure where the Post Office is.

Hi,

The directions are from the village but if you come from the coast road take the road up past Rose gardens and turn right at the top, carry on up to the village and when you see the petrol station on your left take the left turn, the old post office is opposite, then up past the supermarket, left over the ravine and it is on your right about 100 yards.

Please let me know if you find it ok.

Cheers Hattikins

Theos, Excellent local place, only a few minutes from our place. It is owned by a Local Policeman, and the food is excellent. The night we were there in March, there was only me and Sandi and as she is South African felt a little chilly, so they set the fire for us....we had the Mezze and brought our own wine with us, I didn't think the food would ever stop coming from the Kitchen. We had a very nice evening, very friendly staff....Highly recommended for a very reasonable dinner AND of course very Handy if you live in the area.

By the way: It is normal for us to take our own wine and pay corkage.

We buy most of our wine (Australian and South African) from Iceland and they very often have a deal or two on the go.

Good luck and enjoy all the restuarants you visit.

Cliff,

Is that Iceland the food shop or Iceland the Country?. If it's the shop I'll have to give it a try as we are partial to SA wines, as we spent a few years there.

Baspinar bob et al. Is it just me or do others consider that 65ytl (£26?) for kebab, meze and bottle of wine is a tad expensive? or is it just that living in Yorkshire, where a good bar meal can be had for under £5 and not to mention the all day carvery with 3 meats and all veg you can eat for £3.50 (now that is cheap!!)
