Just thought this may interest some people here .. a cousin of mine has a dog kennel in a remote villiage somewhere on the island , im sure no one here knows about it , he breeds aswell as imports from the south , ive been and seen it and at any one time he has around 20 dogs of varying breeds but continously changing as he sells etc He supplies some pet shops in trnc aswell as sells directly, so if anyones looking for a new dog , i could help , last time i went he had 3 rotties , 3 chow chows , 2 bulldogs , chiwawahs , 2 sharpies , 3 pekinese , 2 shiatso's , labrador , german shepards a dberman , 2 huskys and few other breeds i dont know the names of

Why anyone would need a pure breed in Cyprus is beyond me. There are so many strays that are desperate to find homes with loving families! It's not as if there are international dog shows here where there are cash prizes and such like. The only breed of dog in Cyprus that seems to have any bearing are hunters...and they do have super personalities and are quite handsome!! I do wonder what this 'dog breeding facility' is like...hopefully not like the awful puppy farms you here so much about!! Do you need a license to breed dogs (especially in a country that is already over run with unwanted dogs)

The last business that NC needs in my humble opinion is a dog breeder! As rightly pointed out, there are far too many dogs that have been abandoned and desperately need homes. Go and have a word with KAR. The other local pastime seems to be dog poisoning. That doesn't seem to support a business strategy for a dog breeder or have you suggested bringing in international dog breeding advisors?

This is called a 'puppy farm' and its sole purpose is to make money from selling puppies of different breeds. I personally don't like it, but I'll bet I'm the only one who says so.

ok ladies , i guess your right its a sensitive subject , i will not continue to write on about it here , my apologies if i offended thee, when i said he imports , he goes over there buys them and simply drives them back here , how he gets them across is his business but he manages to do so , it is a puppy farm , and admitadely not the best of conditions , i have rebuked him for it , anywhere else in the world hed be closed down i guess , but so would many other trnc unregulated goings on .... hes a villiager , i guess he dont know any better , but i got my dog from him as do many others , and i have no regrets he was a gorgeous lil pup and growing up well and healthy ,,

Give Tommy13 a break, if people wish to buy pedigree dogs that is up to them, and yes there are lots of strays, but sometimes people want different breeds for all sorts of resons.

Hi Millzer you and me both. I get upset every single day here. I feed the strays that I find I even take them in. Te attitude here stinks. We have recently moved house and do not have a gate yet. A couple of weeks ago an elderly coouple were walking past the ouse to the beach and my dogs got out. The old guy started beating the girl dog she is the yapper with his crook.He has siince reported us to Lapta polic and they have now been 5 times. I now lock them on the balcolny (really good in a break in) but still he complains. They told me if they come again then they will shoot my dogs. I have been mortified and particulary as that stupid person signing on as BertiePointer slagging me off for not letting him go free. They have been again today and told me that the gate has to be in place by tommorow. I am so scared. We took this house as it had sace for them all. I had even planned to take a few more but BertiePointer has put a stop to that. How can they guard your house chained up xxxxxx
