People moan about Cypriot Builders! We are moving to Karsiyaka this September, and we have 1 potential buyer for our house since last September (that is our only viewing, in saying that only advertised on the Internet)

We had a new kitchen put in, looks wonderful but the new sink leaks, had him back on 3 occassions, ended up falling out with him and him trouncing off. Had a new shower room, the toilet leaks, also told can't use it too much in case the steam from the shower makes the tiles drop off!! . Having the house painted outside. They started the job 3 weeks ago, got rained off several times, then too windy, didn't have the right ladders, (brilliant at texting excuses though!) we are still waiting job only half done. It seems everytime you want something doing, it is a minefield. We get Xmas cards every year from an ex-plumber yet we had to get another one to re-do his job. We had a roofer who we had to get back 3 times and we just gave up in the end, Are we just unlucky?

90% of them here are all the same.l could lıst of lots of thıngs that wasnt done rıght wıth our house.and when we saıd anythıng there askıng for more money to put ıt rıght.every thıng ıs extra.

I can recommend Kirk of Bracey builders. He is from the old school of UK tradesmen. Does what he says and charges what he asked for.

hi daffodils,sorry to hear of your problems in the uk, with tradesmen. the problem these days with tradesmen is that rather than take their time, to do the job properly.they want to get in and get out, and on to their next job as quickly as possible.especialy if they are self employed,as they say time is money.i worked with a master plumber,who was faster than me,but when we turned the water back on we had to go around and repair his leaks.i worked by the old maxim of a stitch in time saves nine,but i must admit i have had leaks as well from time to time. any plumber that say's they have never had a leak is a lier.
