Thanks! It's a shame some of the bars don't have them as you have to sometimes pay to use hotel facilities! Natx

"It's a shame some of the bars don't have them..." Bars?! This is table tennis not snooker. Well, it depends on the styles of you and your opponent, but you need space to play. Blade: Stiga tube FH: Andro plasma 470 BH: Donic Alligator def

i'm treasurer of my local cricket club,it has a bar and yes "a table tennis table". The table is used far more than the dart board and the pool table,in fact it rarely is not in use!so it can work believe it or not.

Magbs, you must be popular in the middle east, being a long pimple merchant.

Re, Lobylud I am not a merchant or a seller. TT is my passion not business. Regarding the long pimples...well, as you get older you try to make time slow down

Hi Magbs, I don't know if you are English but when I said you were a long pimple merchant I didn't mean you were selling the stuff. In this context it means you are a user of long pimples on your backhand. Saying you must be popular also means because you use long pimples you must frustrate many of your opponents and not really be popular with some of them. English is a funny language, it doesn't always mean what's actually written or said. By the way at 38 you should still be in your prime. Somebody in a previous post said they play Table Tennis at one of the Universities in Nicosia.

Hi Lobylud, Now I see what's the added value of this forum Wow, I never thought one could attribute that meaning to "merchant", though English is not the only language (I am Israeli) that has same words with (context dependent) different or even opposite meaning. Btw I remember when I took courses in metallurgy the verb temper sometimes meant to harden (metal, glass) or to soften (cast iron)...

"you should still be in your prime". Well I (hope) am in a good shape nevetherless about a year ago started giving long pimples serious consideration. Not hoping to win easy points but rather because I felt I could not play the young players style forever. And btw long, hard rallies are not less fun. Yep, the LP players are pretty popular among some players (I too used to say they ruin the excitement;) but at the advanced and even intermediate level, most do not not lose points by misjudging the spin. And also today, as the frictionless pimples are banned now, there are no rubbers with really frustrating effects.
