Just been watching the celebrations on MUTV what a shame the match did not live up to expectations, roll on 27 May!

Imagine being so good and not having to suffer relegation battles, lower league survival, dismal terraces, smelly loos, cheering oposition, never being on match of the day, never being on the back page, being looked at twice in an attempt to recognise our colours, empty trophy cabinets, lots of pain and tears, always next season promises, donations to find or keep a player ... its just not a game its more than that.

"what would happen if "...united gave lots of points away this year after a slow start and a trip to the far east .....just because liverpool had a greta season ,arsenal fell away and chelsea sacked and had the wrong man in charge doesnt mean united were lucky .

some luck all 37 games it tookto win the title and to claw back a 10 point deficit when they came back from far east ...face it liverpool did well but bottled it ,just because you took 6 points of the big teams doesnt mean you will do it next year .

How deluded are some Liverpool fans, they should know that the season lasts for 38 games and not just the two they beat United, it's like going back to the 1967 season when Scotland beat England at Wembley and claimed they were World Champions. Like Liverpool it was allin their minds and not reality.

People say Scottish football is boring as it is a two horse race every season......well although the premiership is not boring it does seem to becoming a one horse race as UNITED seem to be far superior to the rest!!!

I have to agree somewhat with Grey80 - Manchester United were lucky. Any other team in the premiership that only loses 2 games as Liverpool have done would have won the title. If I were a Liverpool fan I would be worried because United, Arsenal and Chelsea will be better next season. My money would be on united getting a 4th title in a row because they can improve - and to win the title in arguably the best league in the world when not at your best is some achievement!!

I would be worried if I was a Liverpool fan as well as for only losing 2 games, well done to them but it was the number of draws that let them down and as you say United can only get better with some great youngsters coming up and they look as though the conveyer belt will keep going as I watch MUTV in the mornings on one of the NILESAT channels and some of the young lads are terrific. Mind you the back room staff almost out number the playing staff!!!!!

Not sure I agree with that Dodger - you can't dispute Liverpool being a big club with a fantastic history. But if I was a Liverpool fan (and I'm not by the way) I couldn't help thinking that this was a big chance missed to get a premiership title. I can't see them being as good next year - but with the others there is room for improvement.

Please explain why all of the other teams can improve next season but liverpool can not, if benitez pulls his finger out of his a#s and does not buy players like Keane, Lucas then surley they can improve as well or is that not possible. I agree we lost the league( that i have no choice about) but surley some must agree we lost the leauge ourselves and were not beaten

Grey,

Of course Liverpool can improve by having less draws thats what cost them the title. But take away Gerrard and Torres and they do struggle somewhat,

Paul.

Grey80 - my explanation is this

As you know the performance against the so called big 4 is vital because they are potential ‘6 pointers’. This season Liverpool was exemplary suffering no losses and amassing 14 points. Then came Arsenal on 7 points, Chelsea 6 points then Man Utd who only achieved 5 points. This is where there is room for improvement but Liverpool will find it difficult to repeat this fine performance and makes United’s achievement this year so remarkable. I wish you luck next season but I doubt you will be in the top 2.

fellas, the debate will go on for another year (season ending 2010) and then we will find out, its hard because this is the best run we have had in along time that and that, but Arsenal have problems and i dont think they will be sorted out in time. Chelsea are crap ( sorry if any one supports them) no real history just a big bank balance as the same for Man city now, I just hope that Benitez sorts the small things out then we stand a good chance. I just want to say we have got such a good leauge you just never know where its going to go. its been a good season for all, full of goals, where would we be with out sport

Man Utd were not at there best this season yet still won the league comfortably.

Ronaldo had a poor season compared to his high standard's,although i think he was still top scorer in the league........ and we have still to see the best of Berbatov.

For next season i see Chelsea as the only real threat to United....look really good under new manager and have a big squad of top players.

Arsenal can beat anyone on there day but there squad is not big enough for the season.

Liverpool..have had a really strong finish to the season but there has been no pressure on them as the title race was over weeks ago....and take Gerrard and Torres out and they become an average side
