| Further to previous posting about a new Indian restaurant in Ozankoy - has Elvis at the Happy garden really gone? The meze cooked by his mamma were superb and we were really looking forward to visiting again next time we come out.
I hope "Elvis" is ok...does anyone know? Thanks  |

... Closed ages ago..... ...... Ihave his number and will give him a call... still driving around in the black Trans or whatever it was... with the Elvis photo on the bonnett...
.... if anyone is wondering what we're talking about theis is the guy who had the happy garden restaurant in the middle of Ozankoy.. great foor.. but is now closed... and oh.. the music was purely .. ELVIS... and a little TV on the bar with... Viva Las Vegas... great if you like Elvis... but nice guy.. I'll give him a call... |

we saw him briefly when we were out in March and he said he was closed for winter but hoped to reopen in June so he has obvously just decided fairly recently to close....he's a really nice guy, had some great country and western music as well as Elvis, just hope he and his family are well.... |

| Know "Elvis" very well, our friend Ali from Ozancoy took us to see him & his parents, although they were closed they took us through to the garden for drinks and snacks,shown us all the Elvis stuff he has around, tapes, records etc., wonderful people. Took him a 2009 Elvis calender from UK, his car doesn't have the Elvis picture any more though. |

| I stated reading this thread assuming to see something about the elvis impersonator. . . . But you mean the little man. . . . Who is now behind the bar in ali's holiday village in catalkoy. . . . Just off the main road. He was there this weekend. . . . Still has his Elvis tapes. . . .

| yeah - elvis / erbay is definatley at the Ali Bey holiday complex...you can go during the day for a swim and light lunch or pop up for a late drink with him , they are advertising a late bar 10 - 2am...but i am sure you can go earlier and get food too...
erbey has changed his car now - he now has a bright yellow thingy!!!

| ... His restaurant is definitely closed... ... whether or not he is opening in August .... almost half way through the season... I have no idea...
Anyway... Semtcm... what did you think about the musicians on Friday night ... were you at the Ali Bey Holiday village?
Serdar was the guitarist... mix of English and Turkish songs... |

| Anyway... Serdar has a regular spot on Saturday Nights each week....
Maybe worth a visit ... food okay... nice crowd... and something East of Kyrenia ...
Ps. Talking of Mad Hatters... does anyone from the 1950's who was here in Cyprus remember a bar in the old harbour called... The Mad Hatter... was run by an ex army Sargeant Major... not sure of his name...
I have original photo of it... but cannot locate it.... |
