| Hello Ive and welcome to Karsiyaka. I moved to Karsiyaka permanently last May and am enjoying every minute of it. For furniture I would recommend Burhans which you will find on the main road into Kyrenia on the left-hand side just before the army camp that is on both sides of the road. They do all kinds of furniture - upholstered, wood and bamboo. Lamps, curtains, cushions, pieces made out of antique wood, garden furniture - everything in fact. They are very helpful indeed. We bought beds with built-in storage from Ronnies together with headboards, bedside cabinets, chests of drawers all in wood. Ronnies also do all kinds of furniture mainly in wood and can make you anything you want. I've also used Mermaid fabrics for soft furnishings and rattan and wrought iron garden furniture. They made us a large u-shaped wrought iron sofa for our roof terrace to our specification. Mermaid are in Karakum on the right-hand side as you are heading East. You really can get some great stuff here. Have fun in March. Jo PS Don't forget Amanda's Auction held every other Sunday in Ozankoy |

| Can concur re Ronnies & Berhans. Mermaid fabrics are very expensive we found. Best bring as much from the UK as you can especially electrical goods. Martin |

| I have a place at Karsiyaka and I love it there. Far enough away from the madding crowd, but near enough if you need to go. Wish I could be there more often. Patience is a virtue, just a few more years. |

| Thanks Jo for your reply and the information very helpful where abouts in Karsiyaka do you live? my villa is 1 of 7 just after the olive oil factory set in the foot hills you can just see the villas from the road if you look upto the left there are 2 villas the same, has a large window facing the sea with Roman style coloums either side cant miss the villas as thet are painted in a magnolia sort of colour all the others are white. My Mother is moving out full time to Karsiyaka in February she has a villa built by Kofali con at sunset view her villa is on the road to the olive oil factory. Anyway bye for now and thanks again. | Hello Ivan I drove up the olive oil factory road this afternoon! It's a lovely location with all the olive trees and view of the sea and luckily for you just at the top of the road is a great restaurant - Cano's. The restaurant is right next door to the small supermarket at the top of the hill. They do a set menu of meze, main course, fruit, coffee and brandy for 25ytl. It's always busy and popular with locals and expats alike. Kebabs are priced at 12-15ytl so very reasonable and they do tandoori chicken to die for! I live on the sea-side opposite Tolga's and just before Club Simena down the tarmac road towards the sea. Jo |
