Should anyone need the services of caregivers, nannies, or housemaid from the phils feel free to contact me. First let me introduce myself, my name is tessa i recently finished my MA in International Relation here in NC and i am married to a turkish cypriot. My husband and i are planning to put up a recruitment agency either in girne or lefkoşia. We wanted to know it there's a demand for these kind of services before we proceed to our prospective agency. Even if we haven't started our business yet, i can still help you find the best candidate from the phils provided that the possible employer will do all the paperworks (eg. visa, work permit). A minimum of 1 yr. if anyone is interested. As of now, i will serve as your middleman or should i say middlewoman for the time being. If you have further questions, inquiries, or clarification you can contact me through my email add. which is amiable_tanya1998@yahoo.com. Thanks!

I wouldnt be interested in hiring someone to actually come over from the phillipines because you never know if the situation would actually work out. It would be easier to work with someone here who could offer references and proof of address.

In my opinion phillipinos are great as domestic workers and nannies. They are hardworking, polite and never in your face. But like I said. You never know if the situation is going to work out and its a lot of paperwork and expense for the people involved.

There are many in Istanbul or from the greek side. Im sure bringing them over would be easier. Also I would trust the references from Istanbul.

Average wages are $800-$1000 per month for a domestic or nanny (or both) what would the average cost be to bring someone over , get paperwork sorted out etc?

As far as I know only a company can provide a work permit and have to assure the powers that be that a "local" couldn't fit the bill. With regards foreign workers, the prospective employer has to also prove that they have the wherewithall (cash) to send the employee home after the contract finishes. I would guess that the flights from the Phillipines would be quite hefty? With the EU possibility for North Cyprus looming on the horizon I would say that there would not be a call for these type of workers.

hello madmazz,

im not quite sure what you exactly mean, because in the greekside as you might know there are thousands of immigrant workers from asian countries.

We are still gathering more infos. about the legal procedures here in north cyprus and we will also talk to an accountant since that kind of agency doesn't exist here yet. Were talking to some people but doesn't know much about it, so its better that we talk to an expert who can give us information. It's a new concept here so nobody knows and its a little bit more complicated. We will let you know the progress but it seems as early as now my husband and i are getting really frustrated. My husband is a genuine cypriot but he didnt grew up here in NC, he came back 5 yrs ago so he doesn't have any connections. I wish we know people who can guide us to start this business.

Hi Snixer

This is of interest to me, I worked as the General Manager of Recruitment Company in the UK for the last 4 years prior to moving over here and had the same idea myself.

I would be very interested in speaking with both you and your husband in more details about this venture and would love to be involved in someway.

Personally I think if the legalities of employment can be squared then there is an excellent opportunity here and massive potential.

Please contact me directly, I would love to discuss this in more detail.

Thanks and Regards

Pete
