to see if there was any progress on any developments around the area. Came back quite depressed after seeing lots of empty shells. First stop - Discovery Bay, no workmen, looks like nothing has changed in the last 6 months. Next stop - Mayfair Park, handful of workmen, some properties seem to look finished but don't appear to be occupied. Could only see one house that is finished as it had satellite dishes on the roof and a nice mercedes on the drive. Unless someone tells us differently, suspect it is probably the developer or his family living there. Next stop - Marina Park, no workmen and still not finished. Mouflon 1 ??, Serena Park never built, Sweetwater View never built. How many deposits have been paid on these sites - I wonder!!!!!!

east of kyrenia looks to be bad news i too saw many shells out there on the way to Kantara. Prime land as well so probably will be targetted by GCs.

Hi Lilli, some of them never got to be started, but Mayfair Park was started at least 3 years ago so would have thought it should have been finished by now - sadly not

Thanks for the comment about the nice car. Interestingly enough you only seem to mention Nesa group developments. There are plenty of completed developments near Tatlisu and do not wish to comment on the problems with the developer. I can however tell you that we am in no way related or even close to the developer however we was renting on the island for almost 12 months while pushing for the completion of the house. Hence why ours is finished, we have lived in it since september. Two other houses are occupied permanently and four have regular holiday visitors. As for the mercedes yes we have paid the import duty and yes it was expensive!!!

msg 5. Sorry to mislead you but our intention was to only look at the specific sites mentioned. However, yes agree there are lots of developments finished and looking really great.

msg 6. Somehow knew we would get an answer if you were not the developer ha-ha. So pleased that at long last someone has made it onto one of the said mentioned developments and must say you have the house looking really nice.

mess 9 - what about just paying the mortgage off ? - letter of exclusion, what's that all about ?

The sales contracts they have signed confirm that they won't mortgage the land, which they have..

They wouldn't get away with it in the uk..

Hope people don't confuse Sweetwater View with Sweetwater Bay at Tatlisu.

Sweetwater Bay is coming on fantastically and is a terrific site.

It's won't be long before it's finished and that will be another 144 building developement completed.

It's a great design and will be one of the best sites anywhere, so no complaints so far.

Hi ilovekibris,

There are many properties finished and inhabited east of Girne, There are some shells I admit but the majority of developments do get finished and every time I go out to my bungalow there are more and more finished homes. The new coast road is a beautiful area of the island and we chose it over the west because we like it a little more tranquil. This area could hardly be called prime land before 1974 as it was mainly used for goats. You should think before making wild statements like targeted by greeks, this amounts to scaremongering or was this your intention?

Well, plenty of concretet shells and building sites last time I went by. Of course its prime land if its flat and on the coast! Everything had goats on it before. Nothing to do with scaremongering its the truth.

Much nicer to look at when you could see the sea and the goats instead of concrete.

ilovekibris,

You are entitled to your opinion but it doesn't mean it is the truth. Why are you so intent in having what you consider empty shells of buildings being labeled as bad news. Most of these building are in the build stage and will be finished. As for greeks targeting this area is nonsense and is said to frighten and concern owners. It is more likely that the Greek cypriots if they target any where it will be the west of Girne first, as has been born out already with the Orams case.
