Anyone ideas best route please. Also how much euros needed for insurance in south and parking at airport.

Hi Mike. The insurance at the border is 25 euros at the border, unless you have a vehicle over 3 litres then it is 30euros. Parking at the airport is free for the first 20 minutes but its a joke because it takes long than that to pick up your passengers and pay for your ticket. It increases then by the time you have been there, but it`s not eye watering. I really cannot remember exactly how much we paid when we picket up our daughter.

If you insist on avoiding Lefkosa then the crossing you use is Beyermudu not Pila. Famagusta road turn right at Dortyol (after huge mosque) roundabout, then left at tee junction. Stay on that road for ten miles to Beyermudu. After crossing border about half a mile on there is a left turn, take it and you will come out at a tee junction on Dhekalia SBA, turn left and again left down the slip road onto the Larnaca motorway. Follow the signs for the airport. Tip; wait for the plane to land while sitting in a bar on Mackenzie beach, they fly immediately overhead. Wait 45-60 minutes then go and meet your passengers at the drop off point. Having arranged this beforehand.

I do the journey quite a bit if you are going at rush hour times then it can be easier time wise forom lapta it is similar about 10 kms longer, not advisable to do it at night for the first trip.

Car parking use the car park the men with the yellow jackets and whistles will not hessitate to have your car towed !!

The first 20 mins are free then its about €3 for half an hour.

You can check if the flight is on time via this link http://www.cyprusairports.com.cy/

If you check the flight is on time via the above link alow 30- 45 minutes for your visitors to come though to arrivals ie if flight is down to land at 4pm arrive at the airport at about 4.45 pm.

If you have not got one you also need a tom 89 certificate from the police hut at metehan and that is open from 07.30 - 1pm monday to friday exuding public holidays, You will not be able to cross with out this, you will need the vehicles log book and a uk driving licence to obtain this.

Mikelapta; I didn`t say that is the best route but it is if you want to avoid Lefkosa. Looking at your timing assuming you have insurance then Beyermudu is the way to go.
