Just wanted to tell you about the new kebab place in Ozankoy (come out of the Old Mill, turn right and it's 50 yds on the left).....

Kerb appeal - 1/10 but not put off we ventured in - on black board "Kebab with Ayran 5 TL" - so ordered 2, one for me and one for Mr Monger who was in tow...

Food quality - 1/10 - worst kebab in 5 years in North Cyprus - the wrap was bland and the chicken had no taste whatsoever, salad was ok....

Well we ate and asked for the bill - "20 TL please" - now not even Garry Monger is stupid enough to think that 2 x 5 TL kebabs come to 20 TL...

So i told the owner it should be 10 TL - "no 20TL because, i gave you extra chicken", but i replied that we didn't ask for extra chicken...

After a few minutes adguing the owner agreed to accept 10 TL.....

Honestly words fail me....

I'd rather have a night of passion with Garry Monger's missus than return there....

You have been warned.....

This is very surprising Nick because isn't the guy running this kebab shop the same one that ran the one next to Liasons that once upon a time some other forum members said was good?

I must admit to not trying this one yet but I think I will be giving it a miss based on your experiences.

Good info Nick, Probably charged you extra cause you are a white of english decent with a wallet. (happens all the time). Or maybe no one had ventured in for a kebab that evening which gives him the right under Turkish law to double the price and charge extra. It can only happen on Devils island.

Anyone looking for a "cheap and cheerful" kebab/pide type meal try Yaprak Tantuni near Mr Pound. The menus are clearly marked with prices, the place is always busy, food freshly made and very tasty. All round good value. It is Turkish style however, so no alcohol.
