Just watched the new Tom Hanks film,Angels and Demons.I think the Catholic church were the angels, what with recent revelations about child abuse by the Catholic church in Ireland, good God the demons must be bad. Guess what no prosecutions,o silly me i forgot religion and politicians are above the law.

Hi Kiwikid,

I agree with you, I have read both of these books and all though I enjoyed reading the divinci code I did not enjoy the film. I am looking forward to seeing this new film Angels & Demons.

Me, too. THere was just too much flitting between locations in too short a time for it the storyline to develop properly in the Da Vinci Code. I hope the sequel is better.

A propos, politicians and the church, I hear that Esther Ranzen is thinking of standing in Luton. That could be interesting.

Kiwikid, the Butler and Sloan

I hope I don't let you down terribly but I did not enjoy the film. I thought the book was gripping but apart from the anti matter explosion at the beginning and nearer the end of the film which was amazing, the film did not come up to scratch. Isn't it always that way when you have really enjoyed a book?

I didn't like the D code, and don't particularly see a direct connection with angels and demons.Must say i am a little indifferent towards how good the film is. As far as the religious aspect of it is concerned i couldn't care less, being an atheist and despise all region.Must say when Hanks character in a + demons was asked by one of the cardinals did he believe in God,his reply was music to my ears,( religion is a gift that i have yet to receive) deffinatelly the best line in the film. Am of the same mind as Christopher hitchens.

Religion what a load of old crap.

Re message 5 Angels and Demons is actually a prequel to D'Vinci.

I am hoping I can get it at DVD world when I next come out.

I read them both very close together, and now remember the order of the storylines.

By the way, does anyone have comments on the film of the Kite Runner in relation to the book? I would be fascinated to hear them.

Have just finished reading the Kite runner, didn't want to watch the flim before I had. Wow what a fantastic read. Then I read his second book straight after called "a thousand splendid suns" All a bit heavy one after the other but well worth the read. Now I need a copy of the film, can it be got here?

Don't think I will waste my money going to the cinema to watch Angels and Demons, that will be a DVD night.

Hi there, I think its meant to be a prequel to the da Vinci Code.

Just as in the da Vinci code they were not very faithful to the book.

I wouldn't go to see Angels and demons if I hadn't read the book because you simply wouldn't get an understanding of anything.

I looked forward to seeing it for so long but was disappointed. very much so

Hi I cant wait to read it is it better to read the book first. I rea the kite runner and a thousan splendid suns but in the wrong order. However I loved both . Yes the film can be got here on DVD but to my mind again not as graphic as the book but enjoyed it nevertheless. xx
