Does anyone know what is being built next to The Colony hotel in Girne at the mo? It looks like its going to be quite big? Are we perhaps getting a shopping centre?! Oh please let it be a big shopping centre!!!!

But worked has stopped on it for a few weeks now, we could do with a nice shopping centre here lets hope the building gets going again soon.

I know this is the TRNC and normal logic does not apply....but wouldn't you think that if it was such a prestigious development then there would be an artist's impression of the finished project on a large billboard or hoarding on the site?

cronos. The reason there isn't an artist's impression of the finished project is that they don't know what it's likely to look like when it's finished. ))

We have driven past the site on a number of occasions and I got the impression that it was going to be a shopping mall with restaurants etc.

Last time I looked there was an art impression, it looked good a lot of glass, though it may have been knock down by a truck or something, Haven't seen any work being done for a while now. It just seems to be being used as a car park.

The sign did say it was going to be a shopping centre with underground parking.

Maybe they ought to leave it as a part finished concrete skeleton with exposed reinforcing bars slowly rusting in the elements?

It would then blend in with a lot of other projects in NC !
