I made a note of this Company's name today as I left their premises, because although I have recommended them in the past, I could never remember their name.

Now, Lo and Behold! - they're on the Forum!

No joking, their service is first class - They originally fixed a sump pump for me for LESS than the parts would have cost me to buy from a Yapi market, and have just replaced the shaft seal on my Pool Pump, for very little more than the distributors wanted for the seal itself...

They're a great find - a company that actually knows what they're doing, and charge a very reasonable price to boot.

One very satisfied customer.

Keith.

I can thoroughly recommend this firm. They repair/rebuild all our burnt-out pool pumps.

They know me as Noel Baba.

having read all the previous posts re.Press Teknik I must deflate the balloon a bit. A friend of mine bought an Italian made well pump just over a week ago which was demonstrated running in the shop. He took it home and installed it in the well and switched it on. Within an hour the main RCD in the house tripped caused by the pump. The pump was taken back to the shop and the strainer was removed. The owner on seeing the gunge said "your fault, impeller blocked with dirt, not my problem" and was quite nasty with it. My friend called me and asked me if I would have a look at it as I am a qualified electrician with over 40 years of industrial experience behind me.

I stripped the pump to check the impellers (stacked system) and there was no sign of anything blocking/impeding them. I tested the motor and found there was a short between the windings and earth. (if the earth is disconnected the pump will run ok)

I then checked the prewired control box and found that the connections for the start and run windings on the motor were transposed, this being the root cause of the problem (for the layman if the motor runs continuously it will overheat and break down thi insulation on the windings)

Come on Nidya, Iam sure you will know the customer I am referring to, so do the decent thing---call him and offer to sort the problem amicably and preserve your good name!

Thank you maningi pusa I do know which customer u r talking about. The same customer brought a motor from us 6 months ago which we installed. He brought back the motor after six months because it wasn't working.I contacted him after 3 days and offered to fix his motor free of charge or sell him a new motor for half the price. He decided to buy a new motor(which I demonstrated in the shop)and I gave him 25 meters of cable and the control box.The next day he come back saying the cable was to sort so i gave him 10 meters free of charge. He said that he was able to connect it to the motor himself.I wish he had contacted you at first to connect the motor since you r a qualified electrician with 40 years experience instead of doing it himself.Because i work very long hours unfortunately I cant explain everything over the net,but if you would like to talk in more detail fell free to contact me on my mobile or visit me in my work shop..

After seeing the above reports we recommend Press Teknik to our friends. Once again they came up trumps and gave an excellent service. Well done guys. Keep up the good work.

MSG 12'

You didn't mention what the cause of the problem actually was...

So can we assume that it really WAS a leak on your plumbing, and therefor nothing to do with Press Teknik?

And why would you expect THEM to come and sort out YOUR problems?

It might be adviseable to employ a competent plumber who can determine the cause of any such problems, and then decide how to deal with it...

Best regards,

Keith.

Hi loulou,

Perhaps it might have been better to get a plumber to supply and instal the pump as he would have seen the fault and should have diagnosed it and resolved it there and then. It sounds like the electronic pressure sensor has failed. Try Cyprus Solutions on 0533 836 7094.

loulou,

I have to say that doesn't sound good at all.

I notice that you mentioned that it was last year - What happened in the end? - Did you take it back to them?

Keith.

Sienna,

I would reccomend looking Greekside for submersible unless you get from Uk. Press teknic's prices are not cheap by any standard. I got one brought from Uk which was bought off Ebay New. Of course your choice but are top prices in the North

The best supplier for Cyprus is a shop called M.Nicolaou at Dali-Pera Chorio in Nicosia. Their phone number is 22522125 and they import pumps from Switzerland and Germany as well as cheaper Taiwanese ones.
