I have had an offer on my South Cyprus apartment. The purchasers are classed as 'refugees' from Famagusta and I am informed they are entitled to a grant/cheaper mortgage equating to 25% of the value of the property.

They're getting a mortgage through the Housing Finance Corporation (HFC), which provides loans for Greek Cypriot refugee families buying their first home

Refugees can also get a loan from the government against land they own in the occupied north. They can use this to buy property (first or subsequent home).

Refugees can and do get finanancial aid to purchase their first home. The amount they get varies with the number of children that they have.

For a couple they stand to get around €42k, with a child that goes to around €48K and so on.

A number of people with refugee status are now claiming their entitlements
