This question came up on a private e.mail. The sale contract is in the name of husband and wife, can one of them register it?

I phoned up Famagusta DLO but the manager was not in his office, so I spoke to the person who actually does the registration. His initial answer was that both should come. I stressed that these are people living in UK and it is not so easy. If one of them wants to register and the other could not bother, surely each person has the right to protect his interests, so either should be able to register. More consultation and they eventually said Yes. It is a matter of arguing your case forcefully. I tell you the tax man was glad to see my back when I left England in 1976 for good
