As promised here are our impressions of the private schools we visited. We are posting these threads for reference by other parents who are thinking of educating their children in Cyprus:-

The Girne American University(GAU) International Prep School.

We met the principal of the International Preparatory school, Ros Marek. She is a formidable lady who previously worked for a prominent private school in UK. This school is fairly new (less than 5 years old). It is well organised and enjoys the general GAU facilities. This is a considerable plus not enjoyed by any other private school. There is considerable emphasis on Turkish (8 hours a week) and a definite aim to foster bilingual English/Turkish to facilitate teaching in the secondary school. The fees are reasonable. We think the preparatory school is a good choice and it is popular with expatriates. We are less sure about the secondary school.
