As promised here are our impressions of the private schools we visited. We are posting these threads for reference by other parents who are thinking of educating their children in Cyprus:-

Highgate School.

We met the director who is an articulate and committed woman. The school had a wonderful atmosphere. We think this was an excellent school. Unfortunately the current site is to be closed this year following complaints from wealthy, influential GC neighbours. ROC Nicosia council has decided the school was never given planning permission and must close! The primary school will transfer to a nearby site but reduce in size to 1 form intake (it was 2). The secondary school will be absorbed by another school. We could not chose this school in the circumstances.

We think this is a shameful situation and is a good example of how the British minority are treated in the south. This situation could never occur in London with an orthodox (or Muslim) school.
