Hi all, I have friends who are visiting Paphos in a few weeks and am thinking of going over to see them for a couple of nights. Since i came to live here i have not been to the south, never felt the need, so have not got a clue as to the formalities needed, ie, border requirements. Another thing i have read here is ' dont give a north address ' does this apply to booking the hotel room? What time do the insurance booths open at the crossing, i am thinking of using the one at Pyla, and what time does it close? Grateful for any advise.

As an EU citizen living in an EU country and visiting another EU country it should not have a bearing on the address you give if in fact required, but if you are concerned use mine, No1 Buck House, The Mall, London! Insurance booths are open from seven till late, but always check that it is not a public holiday or a weekend when travelling i.e get the insurance mid week, even if travelling the following week, take your passport and insurance and your UK driving licence. note: an EU citizen with only a TRNC licence is prohibited from driving in the ROC, thinking about it if you are driving in a TRNC plated car then the above address might not be of use!

Hye We went last year for 2 nights to meet up with friends (that was enough - couldn't wait to head back to them there hills !!!) and stayed in a hotel. We had to give a credit card and an address - i just gave them our old UK address. They knew we were from North because we had an allocated car park space and they needed our reg no. It was not a problem though. We didn't cross at Pyla we went over at Metehan and just went motorway all the way down. Be interested to know how long it takes you from Pyla. Hope you enjoy yourselves.

went to Paphos for 3 days last year like you to meet up with friends. No problems at all with hotel ect and they knew we were from the north. More of a problem with having an empty purse . We spent so much money on food and beverages it is really expensive be prepared .
