I inherited some land in Sirinevler (30 donums) but know very little about the area.

Not really sure what to do. Keep it, sell it, build on it....I dont even know the valuation! or how to get one.

Can anyone advise me of the area, potential, locality. All advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks

I thought it was Sirinevler in Istanbul! Lived near there once and it is near Atakoy

Means "beautiful houses" so I hope it is!

phyl,

lots are the places here have names which are the same as places in turkey.

our village also has a twin in turkey and last year we actually met someone here who was on holiday from that village.

i think the beautiful houses were in the past and is now a little run down, but i think maybe the situ as they were gc owned and people are reluctant to spend money on them.

Thanks for your comments.....most helpful.

It is Sirinevler Cyprus (not too far from Kyrenia i think!).

It is Pre 74 Turkish owned land.

A distant cousin (who i dont really trust) said he would take the Land off me for £800 per donum. He also said that will be the best offer i would get and he is doing me a favour by taking it off my hands! His calls to me are getting more frequent.

Confused!!

Hi....suggest you contact Halil via northcypruspropertyconsultants.com website......he is based in NC, is TC with 18 years in the UK

I am sure he will be able to give you a true worth of your inheritance.

Good luck...tell your cousin you are getting an independant valuation and he will be given first option if you decide to sell or partial sell....might keep him quiet for a time.

kepps,

turkish title is rising in price daily just hold on to it for a while! the land on this side is going up in a big way!

your cousin is taking you for a fool big style, but i am suprised that it is all turkish title as i know the village was mainly gc owned pre 74.

also sounds like a lot of donums for such a small village.

is it all farm land?

if your interested in selling i could put you in touch with a couple of people who might be interested.

Hi Fire starter,

Thanks for that.

I am not really sure if it is Farm Land, would that make a difference?

I was told it is pre 74 turkish land, i will be visiting cyprus in the summer with a view to sorting it out! (I have never ever been to Sirinevler)

It is not a case of me wanting to sell, more of a case of inherited land, and not sure of my next step.

I keep being told it is in the middle of nowhere and worthless, and I have to admit, although I smell a rat, my cousins offer of £800 per donum is quite tempting....especially in this current economic climate.....but for my fathers sake, i dont want to be sold short.

I have tried to contact a couple of companies in Cyprus, and are still waiting to hear from them.

Try http://www.sunbeamsestate.com. They have a good reputation and Abdelazim Karrar and Ali Yemenici will be able to tell you the value of your land and for what purpose you can use it. You must come over and see it for yourself though. They will be able to take you there if you don't know where it is. They have helped people in this situation before. i.e people with a map of the area but no idea of exact location. Hope this helps.

kepps,

checked out your land and i believe its not pre 74 turkish but exchange land.

was speaking yesterday to someone who knows a bit about it,lol.

most if not all of that village is gc pre 1974.

you rearly do need to come out here to sell it as people won't buy anything this side of the mountian unless your name is on the tile deeds.

again most agents won't take on land if your name is not on the deeds.

i will speak with a few more people and see what i can come up with, but it will be a week or so.

send me your email to : sharpeisara@hotmail .com, so if i come up with anyone interested i can contact you.
