Can anyone assist me, arriving in karsiyaka on 16th June and need to get documents for our household goods release.

Not knowing the area can anyone explain if there is a Muhtar in the village or where i should go to get the letter i need for the in/out document from imigration dept. also direction to the police station whould be a great help. My knowledge of the area is limited directions to the local post office would also be helpful.

We are staying at the Mountain view hotel near Lapa. but our goods arrive before we do hence the urgency

The Mukthar in Karsiyaka is next to the Co Op, the police station is a little trickier, hope someone else can help you with that.

The position of Muhtar in Karsiyaka has ceased. The owner of the Ko-op now signs the document for residency permits and inward shipping clearance @ 10TL for the stamp which he provides. No Post Office in Karsiyaka, nearest is Lapta. Directions for Nicosia Police is tricky but I suggest that you ask your shipping agent if one of their staff can meet you and take you there. Valentine & Olytran do this as a matter of course.

baldy,

Thanks very much for your assistance, the post office in Lapta I think I know where that is, on the corner of the road leading to Pasta Mainier? if my memory serves me correctly.

Im sure the co-op will be easy to find.

Olytrans we are dealing with so I will check with them tomorrow as suggested.

The in out document costs 7 Lira in Stamps and can be obtained at the Girne main police station by the market. Saves going to Lefkosa

Cem at the Post Office in Lapta speaks very good English and he used to work in customs, so am sure he could help you out with what to do and where to go. He also often delivers the post in Karsiyaka.

Just a small correction to Hattikins directions to the police station in Kyrenia. You have to go past the fountain roundabout down to the main roundabout and then come back on yourself and turn left just before the fountain roundabout and then the police station is 100 yards up on the left. Hope that makes sense.

Also, the post office you mentioned by the turning for Pastamania is Karaoglanoglu not Lapta. It doesn't matter really unless you were hoping to speak the Cem at Lapta post office in which case it is up in the village not on the main road.

My advice would be go to Karsiyaka first and get your letter then on the way back towards Kyrenia take the Rose Gardens turning up to Lapta. At the top of the road turn left and then carry on until you get to the start of the shops. You will eventually come to the Lapta Post Office on the right had side set back a little from the road.

Re message 12 -said meet dog at customs?? If he/she is coming in by air the Vet Dept will meet and take to the kennels - you then go there at your leisure (!) to see its ok, feed and take for walk etc. If dog meant something else - sorey!!

No joandjelly, Sorry but that isn't necessarily correct.

you can take the 2nd exit at the fountain roundabout, turn 1st left, then left again at the road where the market is held, left again and the police station is on the right.

Hi Geejay I know you can go that way but it isn't what was said in the original post by Hattikins and I just thought it was easier to explain the way I said.

Sucker make sure you check the opening times of the Police Station for the ins and outs now that it is Summer.
