Erik - it covers the rubbish collection. Street lighting and roads depend on where you live. If you live on a street which is maintained by the Muhtar, you will get the services. If you live on a development which has been designated a SITI (or a site / community, usually with communal pool etc), then you will have to pay the electric for lighting and road / pavement yourselves.

Perry - yes we do live on a development but how do you know if it has been designated a SITI? We do have a communal pool but thats it - nothing else. We currently get a rubbish collection once a week and although have street lights they don't as yet work!

I think you'll find that even if your lights don't work, you still have to contribute to the lights that do work.

I'm not sure, but I think it also include the spraying service that tries to get rid of the mossies

Hi Erik The Red,

Our property is on a complex with three pools but our street lighting is part of our council and property tax.

In order for ours to be switched on all owners had to pay both the above. Our property comes under Esentepe Belediya.

The 'lighing' element of the bill is for TRNC wide street lighting I was told as we have no street lights but still have to pay.
