Hi has anyone been following the drop in interest rates and can you see them going back up in the very near future? Will the exchange rate only stay up as long as the interest rate over there is low.Do you still have to pay as much Tax on Sterling as you do with Turkis lire.Would it be more wise to leave money in England where it will be more safe? How is every one getting on when they are living off the interest on the lump saving account they are hoping to live off.Has anyone had trouble with tranfering money to North Cyprus from banks in England .Can you take a cheque or money order over with you to deposit in your account?Which banks are paying the best interest on turkis Lire or sterling.Has any one driven their car over and what is the best route to take? How much tax could you end up paying on the car or is it better to buy one over in North Cyprus. How many ferries would you be taking from the UK ?Has the prices gone down now the interest payments in the bank is not up to much?ok

In between "cutting back & no" there should be a "yes and Continental Bank".

Well done Sideways! Just to let you know Continental's Lira rate went down again on 29 May. They are now paying 13% for amounts in excess of 100000TL. When will they reduce the tax on the interest I wonder
