| Just wondered how many of you own a generator are they really necessary to have? if there is a power cut how long do they normally last just abit woried with freezer contents so trying to decide do i need one . Also what is the cost of one? cheers jacko |

| We dont have a generator at home, and the freezer is ok for the period we experience power cuts. The worse we've had was Xmas Day 2006 - off for 13 hours, but thank god we have only suffered a few minor ones over the last 12 months. But guess it's where you live, so get a few more comments in before you decide whether to invest or not. Personally, i would just see how you go on, there isn't a huge need for freezer stuff here, as the local produce is generally good quality and organic. |

| We've got one but haven't used it for well over a year now. We don't get the power cuts we used to thank goodness. You can't really say how long they will last but its not normally very long, certainly not long enough for the freezer to defrost. Karen |
