Hi all, last year Roger Waters was trying to do a concert on the green line in Nicosia.

There is a whisper that he may try again.

We've started a facebook page to persuade him or Pink Floyd to try again while the re-unification talks are on.

Do you think it is a good idea?

Here is the link, if you have a facebook account, join the cause!

Yep but then there are the 70+ viewers of this thread that may have a valid input. But I guess they are shy.

Roger Waters is a great performer. I saw him in concert a few years ago in Mumbai and it was a fantastic show.

Great - saw them at B'ham Hippodrome in 1973, just before they bough out "Wish You were here".

My though for the evening - when they finished recodring Dark Side of the Moon, do you think they thought they had created a masterpeace ?

Seems like everyone else has seen them apart from me!

Re message 8 Lilli I bet that was a good night in Venice!

I think you are right..

It is just the sort of thing that appeals to Roger Water's ego too...

He did "the Wall" on the Berlin wall, I think the timing would be perfect.

If we can get enough people behind it i believe it will give 'the talks' a kick up the backside too..

Re message 10

Hi Nick, I got into them much later (i was 2 in 1973!) another brick in the wall scared me off them for a while, all that mincing of kids......re Dark Side maybe... David Gilmour said he always wanted to hear "Dark Side of the moon" totally fresh, like he had never heard it while they were making it. It is a classic!

I would recommend the "pigs might fly" biography by the way, i have just finished it...

petez they can do no wrong for me. I lived in Berlin so that was so emotional. Venice well can you image that backdrop. I know they wanted to do it again last year but got cancelled because of the impact it could have on the buildings in S Marks Square. If anybody can bring communities together and it has been proved before any one else has a pop at me, then people like this can. I think you are so right give them a kick and restart. After all we remain guests here but for the future generations I hope it does take off. If so more will follow. Music is such a common demonator and the new generation will make it happen. Same with sport xx

I wonder if hes's changed from the skinny lad who performed at the UFO in London in 1967? Syd Barrett and all. Yeah I know, 2 bob was a lot of money for entry. But it was WORTH IT!

Re message 13. McSteviet

I think there was a problem with safety and finding a suitable venue.

They were going to use the football stadium but I don't think it was a big enough statement for him.

re message 14 I love the Syd Barrett Floyd but am sort of glad he had to leave, I hope you didn't drink the punch that night Robin!

Please let this happen - even better if it happens when we are there. We are both HUGE fans and it would be amazing to see them live. We have never managed it before.

re message 22: Robin Hood, you had a lucky escape with the punch.. I think Syd had one glass too many!

Am jealous of anyone who has seen them, I'm only just discovering them properly..

Just an update on our page on Facebook.. If you haven't already become a fan, please do so.. we have over 700 fans now.

If you are not a member of Facebook, it is a good excuse to become one.

Before you say it, just set your privacy preferences in your profile and don't talk to strangers (if you don't want to)
