Can anyone please advise us what are the most cost effective and efficient Broadband services for our apartment in Catalkay. We plan on spending 1 month at a time, 3 times a year there...using the internet for about 2 hours each day just for general web surfing. Currently we don't have a phone line.

Hi Topcat

It isnt a broadband service but extend hotspots maybe an option.

It costs 29ytl (may have changed since last time i got it) for one month. You just buy a voucher as and when you need it.

If you call extend they can talk you through it, and tell you if it is available in your area, but you can buy the vouchers in most Lemars ( and i am sure other places too) and then just enter the voucher number into you computer and away you go!!

Hope this helps

I think your best option is 3g via Turkcell (modem 149tl) with the monthly "unlimited" top up (70tl) , at least you will be able to connect in your apartment rather than trying to find a hot spot. I think you may aslo be able to use Skype with this as well.

Thanks Hatty. We are out in North Cyprus now and that is exactly what we have done. Bought the 3G dongle from Turkcell and a monthly card and it is working very well so more than pleased.
