Why do most of the bars etc in Alsancak want to play loud music and Karoaki until the early hours? Whatever happened to a night out with a good meal with background music - so you could talk to each other?

Any one agree/disagree

last night there was loud music and a so called singer thought it was a cat getting strangled. ibos is the worst for this,kareoke should be banned i try to go to places where they have what you describe, background music that does not kill the art of conversation

I live in Malatya which is half way up the mountain behind Alsancak. On a Friday and Saturday night the music being played in Alsancak is quite clearly heard, even up there. The poor sods who actually live nearby these music venues must be really pleased...

I live in Karmi and I had to put up with the 'strangled cat' noise coming up the mountain till really late last night. I had to get up at 6am this morning to go to work. Why can't they just do kareoke on Saturday nights??????? Or not at all. Even better.

Even with windows shut, you can still hear it, unfortunately it probably is not so loud when your actually at the venue, the noise just carries here. It is getting worse with more venues playing loud music outside, its a shame but still would rather that than constant police sirens, airplanes etc that we used to have in London.

telephone the Lapta Police if it gets too loud. There are decibel limits set for bars and if they are exceeded the Police will get the music turned down or off. It is only the start of the season so may be it's time to register disapproval.

Good point spangles

Perhaps the bars owners etc, might want to take note - as they may be losing potential customers, and the season doesn't last forever...

So many bars advertise on this forum saying It's kareoke night! Come on I'm sure owners can do better than this old tired fomula , leave Kareoke to the Chavs and Pikeys in Tenerife !!!!!!!

How do you manage to play both at the same time?

Jack;

There must be a misunderstanding with that. I only play clarinet but we perform it guitar which is played by someone else in the band.

Have you ever listen this combination before?
