Bringing tools in container to nc

do you need licences for generators and chain saws,cement mixers.bringing all tools and tower scaffolding over to renovate my house.

The last i knew you defo need licence for chain saw not sure about the rest though. A lot of it will depend on customs at the time and how they feel - but you could be stung quite badly if they think you are bringing in the items for a 'business' purpose - i would be a bit warey if i were you.



If you are shipping the items over speak to your shipping agents and they should be able to check for sure.

Lots of people have generators here, never heard of a license being needed.

You only need a license for a chainsaw if you're using it out with your property,

have checked with the police.



Do not know what charges on your other tools may be, if anything.

Others may be able to advise you on them.

We were told to get a licence for our generator 5 years ago. But everywhere we went to try and get one they laughed at us so we gave up. If chain saws are new make sure you take them out the box or you will have to pay duty on them same goes for anything if new including leather suites!

Yes you do need a license for the chainsaw,just speak to your shipping company [cyprus side ] and they will have all the details.Have you booked yours yet,we had Olaytrans who organized everything over here for us.As for your tools we brought everything,hubby couldn't bear to sell them.Our cost's for the customs for everything 35 ytl.If you would like Olaytrans number I will root it out for you.

WE brought a chainsaw and generator over in the container. The chainsaw and generator were taken away by customs who then told us how much tax to pay and issued a license. Olaytrans were very helpful and sorted everything out for us as well. I can't remember what the cost came to as we had other stuff to pay tax on but I seem to remember it wasn't too much. Yes you will need an Import Licence for a Generator and Chain Saw.

thanks chinaeyes.i have it already.i have chain saw already in nc bought new one and but it in suitcase 2 years ago,had alot of trees to cut down to clear garden.you here so many stories of what you can bring and not.
