Has anyone tried Scuba Diving in North Cyprus ?

I did a trial dive in Mexico last week and I would like to continue with the PADI course in Cyprus. I know there are a couple of diving centres, but has anyone had experience with them and / or can recommend one of the Diving companies ?

My husband dives in Cyprus and says the dive school at Denis Kizi beach is very good, also the Dive School based at Escape Beach.

Thanks for the link to memphisto diving, will definately check them out this year. The water looks more inviting than Stoney Cove.

Unless you are a diver in the UK, won't have a clue where I am on about !

Stoney cove - music to my ears and a chill to the rest of my body lol

as for diving in NC - it will not compare to the red sea but at least it will be warm and a bit of marine life.

I am going to have a couple of dives when I am there in May to see if its worth bringing my gear with me or leaving some at the villa.

In a shotrie? You must be hard!

I've got a hole in one of the fingers of my gloves, b*****y freezing.

Although we dived there one new years day when it was snowing, and there was surface ice on the water, had a bbq in the car park afterwards.

Hi

The dive shop in Catalkoy (next to stop and shop) seems well run and Jenkis (owner) is always ready to sit down and give good advice, Some of my friends who are in the process of doing dive master use him and seem well happy. you can call him on 0533 8683165 or 0392 2236235.

The Water temp at the mo is not too bad for a spot of diving (was out last week and was a nice 16 Degrees),

Stoney cove cold.....Did my rescue there...and was lovely compared to Fort William Scotland In Jan where I did my HSE commerical diving...lovely....

Which ever centre you use A few words of advice if you dont feel happy with the school/Instructors walk away remember you are for all intense purposes putting your life in there hands.

Ask to see there qualifactions dont take there word for it that they are an all singing all dancing dive god.

check the equipment to see if it is in good condtion or well maintained, Ask if they take Oxygen and medical kits with them, never settle for the answer "we are only 5 mins away from the shop"

Lastly Enjoy, its a great sport

Hi Perry

Try Drew and Caroline at the Sempati. Took me and my two boys Last June.

Excellent tuition and reasonably priced. I think they dive all year round.
