Hi all The pedestrian entrance is always open while the bar is open. If you park on the side of the road by the first gate and walk through the gate we are just on the left hand side. We are open 7 days 12 - 3pm and 6 - midnight We serve food both lunchtimes and evenings. I am sorry we do not have room for a snooker or pool table Look forward to seeing you all soon Merlins

Saturday 11th July is Thai night at Merlins. Thai spicy soup followed by chicken or vegetable curry and egg fried rice. Then the unique musical quiz (theme this week will be the Beatles) I thought it wouldnt be a very long quiz if I based the questions on Thailand although there may be a few thrown in. Evening finishes with live music, a sing along and some good old fashioned 'craic' All for 15 YTL. Meals from 7.30pm but please book early. 05338615934

| Merlins is a great place for all ages, catering for all. Easy access good food and plenty for the kids 2 get up 2 with mini golf in all view and the kids room upstairs(tablefooty, pool the lot). Entertainment throughtout the seasons. Brian(my dad) and Karren are doing a sterling job,not to forget June the bar manager. was over there for the wedding and going back in 4 weeks. Cant wait! | Kris Would be interested to know who authorised the use of owners facilities on the Reserve ??? The owners were assured none of the facilities would be open to the public - glad you posted this cos it looks like a case of while the mice are away the cats will play - thanks again for you post which has brought this to owners attention - now we can address this with the maintenance company |

Kris If that is what is going on the Management of Merlins - who are present on the night should have put a stop to it..... The owners/Managerment of Merlins are well aware that the facilities are not for the use of their customers. I doubt they will be prepared to put their hands into their profits to pay for any damage that may be caused.

The facilities at the Reserve are NOT for the use of customers of Merlins. They are for apartment owners only. As an owner we all want to see Merlins become a success but please retract these comments krisshills04 as they are certianly not the business arrangement your father has agreed to. Plenty of customers yes but not the use of the site faciliities that we pay for! Ty

Maybe you should consider fitting push button combination door locks to all 'communal' external doors and encourage 'authorised' people using these facilities to keep the door shut when inside. Ok it won't solve everything and maybe some will find out the combination but these combinations can be changed so just a question of changing combo when necessary and keeping the owners informed.

| A very interesting thread developing here....Rights of the Owners v Use of Site Amenities...and before you commence your usual 44 board abusive slagging off, I have no connection with either owners or Merlins, just an observer. I assume the Bar operator (Brian) pays some form of rent for use of the building, so why should that not extend to allow customers to use the "limited" facilities which by my thoughts must be greatly underused for most of the year? Looking at the location and assuming that full time occupancy is as per many apartment sites very low, unless there is massive passing trade then a handful of incensed "owners" are not going to generate enough business to make Merlins pay its way. So, logically, if the "owners" want a bar to continue, would it not be sensible, instead of declaring an intention to stop visitors using limited facilities, instead work with the bar operator to develop a strategy which gives both the best of service with minimum inconvenience? | Agree Tony and it must be said probably 80%+ of Merlins customers are owners and the other 20% are us locals. And we are a bit old to be messing about on a climbing frame and playing mini golf with no bats. |

We owners have suggested that key pad or swipe locks are fitted to buildings - still awaiting a response on this. Tony yes Merlins are paying rent for the bar/restuarant - at the moment it is not quite clear who's pot this rent is going into - the issue here is that our maintenance fees have just been increased and we were promised that non owners would not be allowed to use our facilities... its not just a case of you can't use that is mine - its a case of we owners will not be happy being presented with any bills for any damage that comes about from outsiders. I doubt Merlins or their owners will cough up if there is damage. Sorry but we did not pay over our have earned cash for the pleasure of others.

HI Gooligan, am I correct in assuming that the "80%" you refer to are made up of about a dozen residents and 70% absent owners who use the site for a couple of weeks a year at best?..so increasing the 20% passing trade becomes critical to the bar turning a profit? - And there are several bars to choose from within a few miles, as we both know so facilities for patrons becomes a primary marketing tool! Inca999 I do see your position, and no doubt would feel the same if I were an owner. However (and this is all hypothetical) faced with a possible choice that any operator might have to make which might mean a choice of a ba,r or no bar, anything which increases the incoming trade to me would seem to be a priority for both owners and operator. Unless of course I did not give a toss about having a bar on my site lol Best Regards TonyE

Hi Tony,I based my assumptions on that everytime I go I know at least 1 in 5 people therefore the rest I dont know must be residents.Yorkshire logic at its best. You can discount passing trade as no bugger knows it's there.

I would like to retract that messege about the facilities!! resort facilities are for the residents only, sorry for any confusion. The resort itself is a realy nice, there are a lot of local attractions very close! this one im sure of(lol) there is a new marina opening(when its started) near to the resort, should be good! There are also alot off good fishing spots around the area aswell for all those keen anglers(Please check local tourist guide information far any permits/licence's needed) This is a realy great place to visit! Can't wait to go back! P.S Residents!!! Sorry once again!! My apologies Kris

We had lunch a couple of times in the summer at Merlins and have to say on both occasions the food was delicious and in a nice setting. I agree that people stopping by should not use the other facilities. Maybe if there were some prominent signs up the few non owners that do feel they can have a dip in someone elses pool might think again. We didn't.
