Hi

Is anyone else here a cancer survivor who'd like to talk about their experiences?

I've quite recently come through chemo - I had Media Stinal B-cell Lymphoma, and was diagnosed as having a tumour about the size of a fist in my chest. The cancer was aggressive, but responded well to treatment - I had 8 courses of CHOP chemo, which was tough, but a sense of humour and my family got me through the worst times! It has helped me a lot to talk about the treatment, the chances of the cancer coming back, and just generally find out about others lives. If you'd like to talk to me about your experiences or if you're facing treatment, please get in touch, I'm a good listener!

Thanks - Lizzy x

Glad to hear you are up & running Lizzy!

My partner's son had this & also had a tumour the same size as yours in his chest. He was only 14 at the time. It was touch & go for a while & he had a major relapse after 1 year but he recently celebrated his 18th birthday and everything is looking rosy!

Take care & BRAVO.

I have Multiple Myeloma, ( Cancer of the Plasma Cells in Bone Marrow)

Had a stem cell transplant in 2002 and been well for 7 years. Relapsing at the moment and have recently started chemo again (Velcade) hoping to have another stem cell transplant in a few months and be well for another 7 years.

Can't travel at the moment but looking forward to some quality convalescence in our apartment when its all over.

Hi Lizzykins

just read your posting re your lymphoma. Have today posted a piece re a lymphoma 'self help group' here in the trnc. I'm currently in remission but waiting for the inevitable relapse. Could be next week/month/year - was offered a stem cell txplant couple of years ago. Went thru the conditioning (r ive) and loads of radiotherapy but couldn't face the hi dose chemo which was next. I don't do chemo too well. Two pet scans showed all clear so perhaps not going thru with the sct was not such a mistake....

Don't know much about your particular lymphoma but there are so manyvarieties. Will look it up. Keep well and keep smiling.

God Bless you all.

I had a friend who suffered from cancer and know how his family felt during that awful time.

We did come across a very helpful book written by a specialist who has been practising some 30 plus years and is quite a specialist.

Anyway, if it helps ... her name is Hulda Clark and her book is very worthwhile buying: The cure for all advanced cancers

I believe it was printed by new century press but you may be able to get it on amazon.

All the best

John

My father got diagnosed with bowel cancer which was part of our reasons for leaving the TRNC.

Thankfully almost a year on from his last operation he is now on his way to a full recovery and hopefully in the new year will get the all clear.

In all honesty it was easier for him to deal with than those around him, although it does make you take stock of the things which are important in life.
