Can't say which is the best, but I doubt you'll get good deals.

You'll end up getting dragged into one of them. Suggest you wear ear protectors and blinkers.

We have found that Harbour Delight is the best. Just ignore the touters and head for the restaurant you want. The Harbour is too pretty to miss just because of the price of the food. We always eat there once per holiday for the scenery. Marti's is good for a drink.

I used to recommend 'Cherinis' which is right at the end of the harbour but it appears to be closed and up for sale at the moment.

Had visitors last week and ate at Canli Balik. Nice meze and not the usual tourist stuff in mayo, followed by fresh grilled sea bream, a Turkish style dessert (steeped in moist moistness), coffee and brandy 25TL. Personally I think that's great value. My brother-in-law had the mixed kebab which looked very disappointing so stick to the fresh fish and you can't go wrong.

Where is currently the best place to change sterling into local currency, in Kyrenia, and what is current exchange rate there?

The Carob restaurant is excellent but if you want a table on the roof terrace I would say that you would have to book. Don't know if they still do it but they used to do frogs legs that were to die for.

The exchange place half way down the High street on the left I find gives the best rates. And today rate is 2.54

I did read a few years ago that they're so expensive because they are some sort of cartel, Harbour Group or something. Well worth the expense once, for the experience.

Me + 1 used to visit Carob regularly until we became more adventurous and it was always good. I believe it is now an Italian restaurant.

It's a shame Cherinis closed as we went a few times and it was very good.

We have visited New Harbour Delight a number of times and no complaints. Whenever going there, I inform them (always with a smile!) that we live here and won't pay tourist prices. We have some great banter with them. As a result we always get between 10% and 20% off. Do your calculations first, of course!

Used to eat and drink in the harbour, not any more - too expensive

£10 for 2 whiskey and cokes was the last straw!

The Brothers is quite nice. Like the the rest of the resturants along the harbour a bit expensive but then they pay higher rates.

The harbour is one of the places that is a ' Must ' when you have visitors,as an evening there can be magicand when you calculate the extra cost you will find it was worth it.

There are good restaurants in the side streets ,where the owners give great service ,great food, great price. They cant live off the harbours reputation ,and dont get so many passers by.Because there are less passers by, they tend to try for the return customer more, and do try to get you back with the food, rather than the scenery

.First time in Niazis good, second time not ,the atitude implied that it was an honour to sit there ,and as we were probably passing thro ,wouldnt be back anyway, Well it worked and have indeed never been back. Opposite happened in sidestreet ,just wandered in ,excellent meal, friendly owner and staff, thought "this will do me "and now am back frequently as are friends.

Honest folks, give other restaurants a chance ,the friendly experience can be worth more than a view.

Not one of my favourites is in the harbour.

griffin.

Durumistan, coming from the carpark, go past the bank and go first right then first left, walk 50 yds its on your right.

OR go past the bank and instead of the first on the right take the next at the new bar, thinks its called Baroino.go down that street and you literally walk across the road into it.
