In praise of officialdom (for once)

We always seem to knock officialdom in the TRNC so it is nice that I can report having had some business down at the customs house in the new harbour Girne, yesterday and not knowing where to start, I was directed to a real gent who spoke good English, he took me through everything very professionally and accompanied me to the various offices and accounts department, and my business that I was dreading took me less than 20 minutes - well done that man

May I congratulate Catalkoy Belediye for an efficent job of fixing a water main burst.



They were informed at 7.30am. The mains water was turned off by 8.30am. The repair crew came at 10.30am but had to wait till 11am for the JCB top turn up to dig a hole. 11.45am all fixed, hole filled, water turned on.



Well done all of you. 3 years ago there was a leak that took 3 weeks to sort out.



Hope they keep up the good work
