Hello



Firtly please do not be offended if you are outside of this age bracket, it is not intended to offend.



I have been in Cyprus for 3 odd years now and just cannot figure out where young like-minded people go out and meet one another. There are young singletons here!



My intention is to gather the troops, for us all to meet somewhere (suggestions please) and have a right good night out, an opportunity to make new friends and who knows maybe a little romance.



So if you fall into this bracket or there abouts, know someone that would like to make some new friends then post a message and we can take it from there. When it seems there is enough interest we set a date and venue.

Hi Ismet no Im not jealous. I do love to bring people together. Have introduced 5 couples in the past 2 years two got married and the rest are engaged or long term now. Im happy for them. What about all meeting at Cafe 34 on the harbour there is lots of space for us all to sit. We should all wear something that makes us part of a group. So that if anyone is arriving alone they will know who we are.

If I get some feedback on Cyprian Bar and everyone likes it, I can reserve a large corner for us. I could get them to put quite a few tables together so we all fit. Its a small place set in a garden surronded by stone walls. Have a look and let me know. We wont be there all night anyway!

Re Cyprian or Cafe 34 both sound good as 34 has seating out-side, nice views on harbour etc and good place to start as not loud so we can hear eachother speak..but Cyprian sounds good for VIP bit, why don't we do both? Although now am into this beach party idea, anyone else feeling the same?!

they have a lovely decking area overlooking the sea and if you have enough interest they will give you this area as like a private function area.



just a thought and also good value for money drinks. not like the harbour!!

I think it is legal to do a bonfire. We had a little beach party with some friends on Saturday and thought about doing that but everyone was way too drunk to actually make it happen lol but even if we had, noone was actually there to say anything! I dont think it would be a prob.

id rather not put my name to the booking as i drink there all the time .



weekends does tend to get rather busy.



saturday night they turned people away as no seating left,only english carried on comming in as we dont mind standing by the bar,but locals left as no seating ,all had been booked.

just i wouldnt like to put my name to the area of the place and you not at least half fill it.

Oh heck, it reminded me of my younger days. I think it was about 1963. Me and my friend went to Goudhurst, Kent for hop picking during the summer vacation. We were invited to a party that weekend out in the open. It did not take me very long to become rather intimate with this georgeous lady with a miniskirt. Then somebody told me that she was getting married next day. I was lost for words. Different culture and all that.

personally.im really starting to think its a non starter.



no 1 seems to have really confirmed to the thread if they will attend or not.maybe 4 or 5 including urself.im going to speak to the owner at 6.30 and tell him to forget the area which juts out over the sea.



seems a shame to book it and not fill it ,better to leave it in case they got a birthday party booking or something.

as for the radio il speak to the guy also at 6.30 this evening.

personally i just dont think you got the numbers who are interested?

You are all trying in vain, you simply cannot decide on the venue and express clearly how many are coming. You should all take lessons from Smithy (sheila) who I suspect is over 40. She fixes the venue, the date and the time and that's it, she then starts counting how many are coming.

hello. ive just had a meeting with the owner of shayna beach bar .i spoke about secretsams get together.he said no problem if you like to come there. also tim from the afternoon show on dance FM who called me today about advertising the even was at the meeting.



shayna is the main sponsor or the afternoon show on dance FM



they have agreed to plug this even if we want it plugging..FOR FREE ALSO!



there it is.



all is done for you secretsam.



i havent booked the part of the bar which juts out over the sea.

Really not putting a downer on this, but just reading about Shayna being so busy and people not getting in on a Saturday night or something? Maybe if the meet up time was earlier then there is more chance of getting a bunch of us together? Only a suggestion!!

Well, I am going with my fiance and my old school friend from London who is Turkish Cypriot is over on holiday & staying near there so she is coming too with her husband! Us four are going regardless, up for a laugh, drinking & dancing! If you want to come you know what I look like (oh my hair is dark now actually!) feel free to come and say hi!

i hear concerns from 1 reader regarding getting a seat,and 9.30 seems a little late.



maybe 8.30 would be nice,normally around 10 or 10.30 it starts to fill up,as it opens until 4 or 5am,or thats the time ive fell out of there some times!

Dance FM 95.5 will be starting to advertise the event today on the afternoon show which starts at 3pm.so tune in and see if you hear it ?
