Have just returned from TRNC and was hoping to get my Title Deeds before the end of the month but was told that the solicitor has to advertise it in the local paper for a month first to see if anyone has any objections. Does anyone know if this is true.

Many thanks

Hi

Your title must be a shared one then. Apparently before a transfer can be made when it is on a shared deeds development the other owners have to be offered first refusal and not object to you receiving the deeds in your name. To get round this if the owners prepare a Power of Attorney giving their full permission any subsequent transfers on that site do not have to be advertised in the press.

Kevnmax,

We had to do this as well! But our friends 2 streets away who also have shared title deeds didn't, seems only our solicitor does this as far as I know.

Our transfer went through the end of March STILL WAITING FOR THE DEEDS TO BE WRITTEN!

I would like to know who's bank account the money is sitting in at this moment!!!

Still we haven't waited long just almost 5 years.

Hi Kevnmax,

I have never heard of this either, I wonder if any other lawyers do this. Can you tell us who yours is?
