2.56 today! I heard it gets even higher through the summer, what's the most you have seen in recent years or highest do you think it will reach & when?

there was someone who was always posting the banks exchange rate of the day in the mornings, please come back & continue to do so! I am waiting for the best day to exchange some money from my sterling account!

3 years ago went to 2.90 but been poor since. Unfortunately it doesn't always get higher in the summer. I have already changed my sterling to lira as last summer I waited and was going to change it when it went to 2.70 but before I knew it it went back down so I lost out. Always a gamble whether to change or wait.

A couple of years ago it actually topped 3 for a short while...not so great if you get paid lira and your rent is in sterling!!!

The rates shown on xe are commercial exchange rates ie what te banks charge each other . We get tourist rates which take into consideration the banks making a bit on the transaction. (they need all the money they can get!!)

depends if they come to a agreement with IMF , the Lira will get stronger if they do , I have have also read that the Lira is being promoted as a currency to buy into,dont expect any large rises.
