How often do I have to have an MOT on my car 1 year or 3 ?????



Also do you have to have an emmision test every year

Yes, the so called MOT lasts for 3 years. There is small likelihood of a technical inspection or test. All they seem to do is check engine serial number to paperwork. Cost is minimal, circa Tl 20.

I believe emission test is only for a year.

my car is a 4x4 petrol and i need a mot every year, (as did my old suzuki jeep,)along with hubbies 4x4 twin cab diesel.

i usually ask a police friend to check when it is due.

go and check!

We feel some official clarification is needed here and would be pleased to see a posting from someone in the know.. We have a 4 x 4 petrol,- MOT every 3 years. Also Suzuki Vitara- MOT every 3 years. Emission tests on each is yearly
